It's been in the news today that a study has been done that shows iPhone / iPod touch users download applications and within a day the majority stop using them, and numbers dwindle further with each day that passes. This affects both free and paid for apps. It has also been found that games are the exception to this trend, as they maintain user interest (head over to PC Pro to see the original article).
I'm interested to know how they conducted this research, as a thought instantly sprung to mind
...
I consider myself to be a reasonably average user of my iPhone. On the way to work I browse the net, check emails and all the rest. But more importantly, I've found a number of applications from the app store (mostly free ones) that have really proven invaluable in my day to day routine. Among my favourites are AroundMe, MyRail Lite, Tube Status and TwitterFon, with a few other apps seeing semi regular use.
I can't imagine that I'm the only one who has a few heavily used apps on their phone, so I'm not convinced by the research myself, but I thought I'd share my thoughts. Let me know what you think ![]()
