Microsoft to put an end to Silverlight development

In the wake of Adobe's announcement that it will be ceasing development of Flash for mobile devices, Microsoft has announced that it will be bringing an end to devlopment for its Silverlight platform. A move which may not be all that surprising to many as at the recent Build conference, Microsoft had already made it clear that Silverlight (as well as Flash) would not be supported within the new Metro interface for Windows 8.

Silverlight was introduced as Microsoft's answer to Flash. The Silverlight platform was designed to be resource efficient, a feature which has seen Silverlight taken up as the platform on which media streaming services such as Sky Go and ITV Player have been built.

Hi great blog! Does running a blog such as this take a lot of work? I have very little expertise in coding however I was hoping to start my own blog soon. Anyway, if you have any suggestions or tips for new blog owners please share. I understand this is off topic however I just needed to ask. Cheers!
