iPhone 5S and 5C confirmed

Today Apple held a media event to announce the official launch of iOS 7, the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C.

iOS 7 will be a free download for anyone with a compatible device, namely iPhone 4 or newer, iPod Touch 5th generation and iPad 2 or newer. iOS 7 will be available to download from September 18th.

The iPhone 5C comes in a series of colours with a polycarbonate back. It will be available in 16GB and 32GB capacities, with the A6 CPU, a retina display, 4G, 1080p HD video recording and a full 10 hours of 3G talk time battery life.

The iPhone 5S shares similar casing to the iPhone 5, but is now also available in a gold colour. Of note is the A7 chip which has a 64-bit architecture, fingerprint ID sensor, 4G and the same battery life specs as the 5C.

Finally of note, Apple is making Pages, Numbers, Keynote, iPhoto, iMovie and Garageband free on iOS devices.
