SteelSeries releases Arctis 1 headset

SteelSeries, makers of the award winning Arctis Pro line of headsets has just released their newest addition to their lineup – the Arctis 1.

Priced at $49.99 USD (£49.99 GBP) and fitted with the same drivers as the other non-pro Arctis headsets (3, 5 and 7), the new Arctis 1 will feature the same clear sound. In contrast to other entries in the Arctis line, the Arctis 1 has a detachable microphone. It is still bidirectional so stands to offer similar levels of noise rejection as seen with the Arctis 3. SteelSeries microphones are typically very clear making the new Arctis 1 a very appealing entry.

There are some design changes over other models though. Opting for a traditional headband that is steel reinforced instead of the more usual ski-goggle headband. The Arctis 1 does feature the same ear cushions as the other models though, so comfort could well be comparable.

Additionally the Arcits 1 sports a volume dial and microphone mute switch on the left ear cup for convenience.

Compatible with all gaming platforms, the Arctis 1 is a universal headset and competes directly with the Astro A10 at this price point. For more information head over to SteelSeries website.
