Mercury Rich Diary Case for iPhone 6/6S

Folio type wallet cases are among the most popular type of case for smartphones these days, offering protection for your phone and a handy place to store your most used cards. This offering from Mercury has entered the fray but just how good is it?

Design

The Mercury Rich Diary case follows many classic design cues. Opting for a black leather style material, elegantly stitched together with black stitching and adding just a hint of chrome on the magnetic clasp. It looks beautiful and feels very premium in the hand. In fact you could almost be forgiven for thinking it was real leather on first picking it up.

Build quality is excellent too, no rough edges or wayward glue here.

Inside you have space for five cards thanks to a secondary fold out holder, which also doubles up to protect your phone screen from the sharp edges of your cards. There’s also space for notes too making this a viable wallet / phone case combination.

The phone is held snugly in place by a rubberised plastic that is soft enough to protect your phone from damage when putting it in the case, but firm enough hold the phone securely. The cut outs for the buttons and connections on the phone are nicely done, however not much space is afforded for the headphone jack. Thinner connectors are fine but you may find wider, chunkier headphone connectors could be a problem.

On the back is a well sized cut out for the camera and flash, rounding off the case nicely. And yes, the magnetic clasp closes with a nice positive feel.

It’s genuinely hard to find much wrong with this case, priced at just £19.99 it punches way above its’ price tag.

The Mercury Rich Diary case for iPhone 6/6S is a delight to hold and use. It feels great in the hand and offers great functionality as a wallet. The internal protection for the phone screen thanks to the additional card flap is very welcome too. The classic design always pleases and makes this a particularly desirable case.
